I'm 18 years old and I'm in my first year studying Psychology at Queen Margaret University just outside Edinburgh. I like going out drinking at weekends, and sometimes during the week too, but I like just chilling out too with whoever's around. Well, I'm pretty new to Edinburgh. I've not been here more than a few years. I came here to study and just never went home.

I like outdoor stuff like sailing and hill walking, and going to the movies. I also like classical music concerts, but I don't get to many at the moment. I also try to fit in a few runs per week but I'm kind of new to that and my legs don't seem too impressed by the whole experience.

As you might have guessed, I'm a massive Hearts supporter. So the massive majority of my Saturdays are spent travelling to support them. There is no better way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

I genuinely dunno what to write about in here, so I'll probably just rant on for a while.

I hate uneducated people. I also hate the fact Scotland has latched onto my country's problems and are continuing to drag it out, whilst the rest of Northern Ireland tries to move on.

I'd really like to know why my nose takes up the majority of the first picture I uploaded onto this thing. Do they not resize stuff on here? Jeez. It's not even that I have a big nose.

I really could rant on about myself, but I dunno quite how to sell myself in one of these small boxes. There is more to me, I swear. I just can't be bothered typing it all out right now.

I'm coming around to the idea that being after the same thing, and having similar emotional approaches to it, is more important than liking the same films, or that you're also a musician. Films and jam sessions I can get from my friends, ultimately. 

I like... playing music, reading books, having the radio on in the kitchen (that'll be 3 or 4, we don't go any lower than that in this house), cats, good films, being at turns cynical or surreal, cooking, board games, card games, being in the garden, decent beer, chocolate, cake*, cheese (except the weird stuff that has fruit in: wrong), picnics that involve wine, the smell of blown out candles.

I don't like... sport (I swim in the interest of keeping fit, but anything else no), food with chilli in it, most chart music (but I also hate the insipid rubbish they peddle to 30somethings to make them think they're with it), jeans that hang too low, tattoos, smoking.

I speak geek, but I like to pretend I'm only on the fringes. Word gets around and people ask me to fix stuff.

I worry about the planet and pay attention to my carbon footprint. I shoo spiders back under the sofa rather than squish them. I sometimes play the piano late at night.

Sometimes I feel battered and world-weary and sometimes like I'm only just starting out. A bit of me was born aged 40 and sensible (never bungee-jumped, never got anything weird pierced, in fact any bit at all for that matter), and a bit of me will always have the the optimism and excitement of childhood (and I'll always like daft jokes). I still get told I look younger than I am, but the line about the state of the painting in my attic has got me so many blank looks that I've given up on it. (This is its last shot.)

* The cake is a lie. I do like cake. I mean in general.

Well I like music and art and reading. My weaknesses include kitty cats, sparkles, Irish boys, coffee, and Jelly Snakes. Essentially I'm a half empty tea cup. I don't know why I'm filling this out. It's late and despite the fact I'm not single, nor looking, I can't resist the urge to fill out the pretty pretty boxes.

I love love love good music. Listening to it, dancing to it, making crude attempts to mime guitar to it. It's a pretty important part of my life, the last time my ipod battery died and I had to listen to Heat level gossip for four hours on the train, I died a little inside.

Movies are good too, quirky indie things with awesome sound tracks and don't have a lot happening are aces. Though I can never say no to Commando or Starship Troopers.

Long walks around neat looking places, or up along hills is also pretty neat! I love watching the city from above, particularly around dusk as the light's are coming on, it really does put life into perspective and makes you feel good to be alive. Which sounds like a horrible cliche and I really hate that I just wrote that, but I'll just leave it since I'm useless with words and can't think of a better way to say it.

I relish challenges and am curious about most things. I have a job that I love and my life, while different from most, works well for me.

Don't really care for being normal or alternative. I guess that just makes me rebellious - don't really feel the need to belong to a "group".

Always chilled out - even when I am busy and fantastically stressed out. It sometimes freaks even me out...

On top of the whole physics is my life thing, I am a massive nerd. I am also a pretty big geek. Most physicists are, and many are far worse than I am, but you should know that anyway. I do all the geeky things: like computer games, playing dungeons & dragons, watching *some* anime, reading many many webcomics. You get the idea.
I like my work; I like solving problems, even if they may take weeks or months to solve. I like learning--ANYTHING. I can spend hours on wikipedia, or just browsing various news sites.
I like little more than sleeping in. I love spending money on things that make me feel good about myself.
I love terrible puns, in part because I can barely come up with any of my own and therefore they are a talent which I am lacking.
I also like owls, bees and watches.

I have watched the West Wing so much that I have not memorised its lines so much as it has shaped my lines of thinking to the point where I can *predict* its lines. Beat that, bitches.

I m originally from India where i studied Instrumentation Engineering then worked in I.T for 6 yrs, then came to Edinburgh 3 years back, finished my course Business studies this summer now job hunting in my field.

What can I tell you that would possibly be relevant? I enjoy a good movie. I prefer watching things that are a bit offbeat but am not one for hunting down independant film. I'm not that keen on seeing avaunt garde productions.

However every now and then I like to go to Cameo or the Filmhouse to watch a movie. My favourite films are things like Pan's Labyrinth, and i find things like Shaun Of The Dead funny.

I enjoy a good gig, will pretty much listen to anything as long as it has a beat and there is always the hope of dancing till 3am in the morning! My favourite bands at the moment are things like the cinematics, bloc party and good shoes.
